Brenda C. Nix is the Director of KATE. As its director, Brenda is passionate about helping teachers use technology to prepare students for the world ahead. She advocates the use of quality resources such as Technology in Classrooms of Kentucky, the learning object repository, developed by KATE to help teachers implement technology mandates. In addition to school and district teaching and leadership roles, she worked in the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Education Technology. That team planned and implemented the Kentucky Education Technology Conference. She continues to value the importance of professional development and a vision of tomorrow’s education through involvement with Kentucky’s KySTE Conference as well as participation in other conferences. Brenda has managed multiple grants including PT3 projects, Bell South initiatives, and Teacher Education Model Programs. Achievements of note include recognition by KySTE as the 2008 Technology Leader and by ISTE as a university NETS Distinguished Achievement Award winner.
